An episode on each night from Monday to Thursday, with nothing moved, and none on Friday 16 October. ITV1 has no football on these nights, so none of the soaps is displaced. All four soaps night by night are in which soaps are on which nights.
For years the rule was simple: EastEnders was on at half seven and you either watched it or heard about it at work. It's still on at half seven, but plenty of fans have now seen it before breakfast.
Here's how it works. EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One, and each episode goes up on BBC iPlayer at 6am the same day. There's no Friday episode.
What time is EastEnders on?
7.30pm to 8pm on BBC One, straight after The One Show. That's four half-hours a week, two hours of Walford in total.
BBC One numbers every episode, so the listing is also the quickest way to check you haven't skipped one; the numbers simply climb by one each night it airs.
The soap has been on BBC One since 19 February 1985, and its running count passed episode 7,400 in September 2026.
How far ahead are EastEnders episodes listed?
Further than most people expect. When we checked BBC One's published schedule on a Tuesday, it already carried episode numbers and one-line descriptions nine days ahead.
That's why the dated box at the top of this page can run into the following week. Listings that far out can still change, especially around big sporting events, so the box records the day we last checked.
What time does EastEnders come out on iPlayer?
6am. TVmaze's UK streaming schedule lists each episode on BBC iPlayer at 06:00 on its broadcast day, and that matches the BBC's own pattern of morning releases.
So by the time the 7.30pm showing starts, the episode has been out for 13 and a half hours. If you're avoiding spoilers, that's the window to be careful on social media.
After broadcast, episodes stay together in the EastEnders collection on iPlayer, which is also the easiest way to catch up on a missed week. You'll need a TV licence to stream, and iPlayer only works in the UK.
Is EastEnders on on Fridays?
No. The soap runs four nights, Monday to Thursday, and BBC One fills Friday's 7.30pm slot with something else.

Why isn't EastEnders on?
If it's a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, that's the normal pattern. From Monday to Thursday, the likeliest reason is a major event on BBC One: big football tournaments, general election coverage and royal occasions have all moved soaps in the past.
When a move happens, BBC One's schedule usually shows it days ahead, and the dated box at the top of this page lists any gap in the fortnight it covers.
Should I watch at 6am or 7.30pm?
It comes down to how much you care about spoilers against how much you like watching together. The 6am release suits commuters and anyone who wants to see it before the internet does.
The 7.30pm showing is still the shared moment, when the doof-doofs land for everyone at once. TV Guide UK's listings mark subtitles and audio description on the BBC One showings, and both routes give you the same 30 minutes.
One more thing on timing: if you watched at 6am, the evening broadcast is the same episode again, not a new one. Save yourself the half hour.

Where else is EastEnders on?
The official EastEnders YouTube channel posts clips, behind-the-scenes pieces and round-ups rather than full new episodes. It's handy for a recap but it isn't a replacement for iPlayer.
