What Time Is Coronation Street On? ITV1 Weeknights, the 7am ITVX Drop and Nights It Skips
Quick answer: Coronation Street is on ITV1 from 8.30pm to 9pm, Monday to Friday, straight after Emmerdale. The same episode is on ITVX from 7am that morning. On nights when ITV1 shows live football, there's no episode at all.
Most weeks that's the whole story. The exceptions are what bring people looking for it, so this page keeps the regular slot and the current week in one place, and updates the dated box above each week.
What time is Coronation Street on tonight?
8.30pm on ITV1, if it's a weekday. ITV's guide shows the same half-hour every weeknight this week and next, with Emmerdale in front at 8pm. There are no Saturday or Sunday episodes.
Each episode lasts 30 minutes, so Corrie is finished by 9pm. Our Emmerdale times guide covers the first half of that hour.
When does Coronation Street come out on ITVX?
7am on the day of broadcast. TVmaze lists every 2026 episode against its ITVX date with a 7am release, and ITV set out the same rule when it announced the half-hour format.

Why is Coronation Street not on tonight?
On a weekday, it's nearly always live football on ITV1. A 7.45pm kick-off fills the whole 8pm to 9pm hour, and ITV takes both soaps out for the night rather than moving them later.
Next Tuesday is one of those nights, with Czech Republic v England in the Nations League. No episode is lost, and the numbers pick up on Wednesday. With no broadcast, there's no 7am ITVX release that day either. Looking further ahead, Live Football on TV lists three more weeknight ITV1 fixtures before mid-November: England v Czech Republic on Tuesday 6 October, Liverpool v Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday 28 October, and England v Croatia on Thursday 12 November. All three kick off at 7.45pm, which is squarely in the soap hour. ITV's own guide only runs about a week ahead, so treat those as likely rather than confirmed until it lists them.
The clocks go back on Sunday 25 October. After that, the 8.30pm slot is 8.30pm GMT rather than BST, but nothing about the time on your screen changes.
How many Coronation Street episodes are there in a week?
Five in a normal week, one per weeknight. In a football week it's four, and occasionally three.
We counted the whole of 2026 from TVmaze's episode list. From Thursday 1 January to Friday 2 October there are 206 weekdays, and 181 of them have a new episode. That leaves 25 weekdays with no Corrie.
Those gaps cluster. Eleven of them fall between 5 June and 14 July, the summer of the World Cup. The rest are spread across the year, mostly single midweek nights.
Did Coronation Street change its episodes in 2026?
Yes. Since January 2026 it has been a single 30-minute episode each weeknight. The year before looked different: TVmaze records 155 episodes across 2025, with runtimes split between roughly 45-minute and roughly 22-minute instalments.
By 2 October this year, Corrie will already have reached episode 181 of 2026. So there are more episodes now, each one shorter, and every one of them in the same 8.30pm slot.
Can I watch Coronation Street on YouTube?
Sometimes. The official Coronation Street channel has posted full episodes, including Monday 24 August's, embedded above. It isn't a replacement for ITVX, which holds every episode from 7am.
